Frozen Drinking Chocolate

Frozen Drinking Chocolate

Most iced chocolate drinks let us down. The ice melts, the flavor slips away, and what was once rich turns watery. We solved that problem—by turning the chocolate itself into the ice.

INGREDIENTS

24 oz (3 cups) milk – dairy or non-dairy

8 oz Fresco Drinking Chocolate

1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

DIRECTIONS

Heat 2 cups of milk to about 160°F—steaming but not boiling.

Pour the hot milk over the drinking chocolate. Let it rest for 1 minute to melt.

Whisk by hand or use an immersion blender until smooth and fully combined.

Pour the mixture into ice cube trays and freeze until solid.

When ready to serve, blend the frozen chocolate cubes with the remaining 1 cup of milk and vanilla until creamy.

Pour into a glass, top with fresh whipped cream, and dust with drinking chocolate powder for a finishing touch.
